On the morning of October 18th, Professor David McGravie, Vice President and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences of Chester, and a delegation of five visited Xi'an University of Finance and Economics (XUFE). Yang Tao, Party Secretary of XUFE, meets with the delegations from University of Chester in the VIP reception room and extended a warm welcome to the delegation. The University Leaders of Xi'an University of Finance and Economics, and Heads of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange and Relevant Secondary Schools, as well as the delegations from the University of Chester (UoC), had a discussion and exchange in the conference room of the administrative building.
At the meeting, Professor Li Ping, Vice President of Xi'an University of Finance and Economics reviewed and summarized the cooperation process of the two universities since the establishment of friendly relations in 2017 from the student exchange project. She pointed out that student exchanges not only strengthen Xi'an University of Finance and Economics' understanding of higher education in UK, but also provide valuable opportunities for deeper and broader cooperation between the two universities.
Professor David McCravie expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Xi'an University of Finance and Economics for its warm reception and briefly introduced the history and academic characteristics of the University of Chester (UoC). Based on the friendly interaction between the two universities in the early stage, he believes that the two universities can facilitate more collaborative projects.
Director Gao Lin'an introduces the foreign exchange of XUFE. The Heads of the School of Business and the School of Information at XUFE introduce their respective majors. Deputy Director Hao Junqing introduces the current teaching affairs of Sino-foreign cooperative education projects of XUFE. Mr. Liu Jiting from Beijing Yinggeli Educational Technology Co., Ltd., (YGL) introduced the application process for joint institute. The two universities conducted in-depth discussions on the application process for Sino-foreign joint institute and reached multiple consensus and cooperation intentions. Finally, Professor Li Ping, Vice President of XUFE and Professor David McGravie, Vice President of UoC exchanged gifts.
After the symposium, Professor David McGravie and his delegation visited the University History Museum, Simulation Laboratory, Future Learning Center and the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and met with the first outstanding alumni of XUFE selected to the UoC. This visit depended the understanding of both parties in the history, talent training mode, education and teaching reform. University of Chester delegation also fully affirmed and highly appraised the education and teaching informatization of XUFE and the work of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship.
This visit marks that the international exchanges between the two universities have entered a higher stage. After the meeting, YGL further communicated with XUFE about the visit plan of UoC in November.
YGL will take this opportunity to keep on facilitating Xi'an University of Finance and Economics and Chester University to implement the plan of joint institute, as well as cooperation in various fields such as education and scientific research.
