"Internationalization of Vocational Education" Seminar Successfully Held

In order to implement the "Opinions on the Work of the Opening-up of Education in the New Era" issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the "Education Action Plan for Jointly Building the Belt and Road Initiative" issued by the Ministry of Education and the "Opinions on Accelerating and Expanding the Opening-up of Education in the New Era" issued by eight ministries, the Training Center of China Vocational Education Association hosted the Seminar themed as "Internationalization of Vocational Education" in Beijing on October 20, 2023, promoting the international communication and cooperation of Chinese vocational education and the integration of vocational education into the "Belt and Road Initiative". Nine vocational colleges from Guangdong, Shannxi, Hebei, Guizhou, etc. discussed about "How should the vocational colleges conduct their international construction?" in this seminar.

The first speaker was Fei Ming, the Executive Director of China Office to the Hellenic Vocational & Technical Education Development Association (HVTEDA), who not only introduced the advantages of vocational and technical education in Greece, but also focused on specific practices in promoting the internationalization of vocational education in China. From the accreditation program of internationalized professional courses in domestic colleges, to the export of standardized talent cultivation programs to Greece, to the establishment of workshops and branch schools abroad, as well as short-term training and study tours for students, each program was explained in detail in relation to the institutions that have already cooperated with, providing new ideas and models for the participating colleges. At the end of this seminar, Mr. Fei said that China and Greece appreciating each other and working together in vocational education will lead to a promising future.

During the dinner, the Shaanxi representative expressed the hope that they'd like to send teachers to Greece next year, exporting Chinese technical talent training courses for a certain industry, and truly realizing the going-out of China's vocational education. This idea was immediately lauded by the Guangzhou representative, which indicated that they would follow suit. Mr. Fei noted that HVTEDA attaches great importance to the cooperation with China and will be highly cooperative in the future exchanges, hoping to promote the internationalization of China's vocational colleges.
