On October 11, 2023, the YGL delegation, under the accompany from Professor Dionysios Mantzavinos, Vice rector of the University of Patras, visited Technical University of Crete and held a meeting with the rector of the university, Professor Michael Zervakis. This is the third time YGL delegation visited the university. The two vice rectors in charge, along with the relevant department heads, attended the meeting.

The entire conference lasted for three hours, and both parties reached an agreement and immediately signed an exclusive comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, aiming to cooperate in education, joint scientific research, Greek students coming to China, and promote Chinese language and culture through a multi-level two-way cooperation model of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs.

The rector immediately said that he would like to celebrate with the words of wine, and took out the local Chania wine, and everyone drank it in unison and cheered. It indicated the enthusiasm for cooperation with Chinese universities.

Technical University of Crete, known as the MIT of Greece, ranks third in the Greek Polytechnic rankings. The school is small but with special proficiency in engineering disciplines, with the highest level of scientific research in Greece, especially in the fields of petroleum and chemical engineering (51st in QS global ranking), chemical and environmental engineering (301st in QS global ranking), electronics and artificial intelligence (201st in Shanghai Ranking). There are many well-known professors and scholars in Europe. In 2022 36 TUC professors were selected in the World Top Scientist Ranking, laying a solid foundation for strong scientific research capabilities. TUC have collaborated with China National Satellite Marine Application Center, Beijing University of Technology, and others.
