On October 9, 2023, the YGL delegation landed in Athens and starts the visit in Greece. For the first stop, the CEO of YGL, Mr. Shen Rong and his delegation held a meeting with the leaders of University of the Aegean and multiple professors at the Athens office.

University of the Aegean was established in 1984. It is one of the youngest universities in Greece. After more than a decade of development, it has 17 departments located on five small islands in the Aegean Sea. In order to meet with YGL, Prof. Kapros Seraphim, Head of the Department of Shipping Trade and Transport, Prof. Konstantelou Anastasia, Head of the Department of Financial and Management Engineering and Prof. Karyda Maria, Head of the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, gathered in the Athens office to warmly welcome YGL's delegation. At the same time, Professor Efstratios Georgoulas, the Vice Rector of Internationalization also attended the meeting online.

YGL has established long-term communication with University of the Aegean and visited Lesvos Island, where the headquarters of the university is located, and signed a cooperation agreement with the school. They have also established good relationships with both the former and current rectors. This meeting aimed to implement more substantive cooperation initiatives. Mr. Shen Rong and colleagues introduced potential Chinese partners and cooperation models, and answered questions from colleagues at University of the Aegean regarding Chinese education policies, industry development, and scientific research cooperation. The meeting went on with a joyful atmosphere. The discussion continues when the scheduled meeting is over, and both parties agreed on to hold another online meeting in order to discuss more details.

This meeting had great significance for further deepening the cooperation between YGL and University of the Aegean, as well as promoting the implementation of cooperation between University of the Aegean and Chinese universities.
