On October 17, 2023, the CEO of YGL, Shen Rong visited University of National and World Economy in Bulgaria and met with Professor Dimitar Dimitrov, Secretary General of the Bulgarian Council of Presidents and President of University of National and World Economy. Both sides conducted in-depth discussions and exchanges on YGL and top universities in Bulgaria in terms of joint education, joint research, academic journals, and joint construction of international academic conferences, and reached multiple consensus. University of National and World Economy has a history of friendly exchanges with Chinese universities and has a strong foundation of cooperation. YGL will assist UNWE in seeking suitable Chinese partners to further expand such partnership.

At the end of the meeting, Shen Rong invited Professor Dimitrov to visit China at an appropriate time next year to participate in the "the Belt and Road" Economic Forum, to discuss cooperation and exchanges in all aspects with more Chinese universities on behalf of Bulgarian universities.

University of National and World Economy is located in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. Established in 1920, the school is the largest and oldest economic higher education institution in Bulgaria, with 8 colleges and over 20000 students. It is one of the largest higher education institutions in economics in Southeast Europe. Over the past century since its establishment, the school has nurtured a large number of outstanding scientists, politicians, diplomats, social activists, entrepreneurs, and more. Six Bulgarian Prime Ministers and Bulgaria's first female Prime Minister are all graduates of the school, and countless ministers have graduated. The current Minister of Education also graduated from the school. Former President Professor Stattey Stattev is a well-known alumnus and professor in the field of economics, a Bulgarian scientist, economist, mathematician, Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Central Bank of Bulgaria, Chairman of the Association of President of Bulgaria, and banker. The university has made historic and great contributions to the politics and economy of Bulgaria.
