On the afternoon of December 1st, Guilin University of Technology and Technical University of Crete held a video conference to discuss international educational cooperation. Professor Zhou Guoqing, the Vice President of Guilin University of Technology, Professor Quan Kelin, the Director of International Exchange Office, relevant leaders of the School of Chemistry and Biotechnology, School of Computer Science and Engineering in Guilin University of Technology and Professor Michail Zervakis, the Rector of Crete University of Technology, Professor Fotios Kanellos, the Vice Rector of Lifelong Education and Foreign Affairs, Professor Konstantinos, the Vice Rector of Research and Innovation Affairs, Professor Danae Venieri, the Vice Rector of Finance and Development Affairs and relevant leaders of the School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering and School of Electrical and Computer Engineering attended the meeting.

Professor Zhou Guoqing introduced the basic situation of Guilin University of Technology to the leaders of Technical University of Crete. He said that educational cooperation is one of the most prominent and rapidly developing areas in China and Greece cooperation in recent years. Guilin University of Technology attaches great importance to educational cooperation and continues to expand the opening up of education to the outside world. The two universities are both polytechnic universities and have a good foundation and broad prospects for cooperation. Guilin University of Technology is looking forward to opening a new chapter of cooperation with Technical University of Crete to make great progress and seek common development.

Professor Michail Zervakis, the rector of Technical University of Crete, introduced the university's overview, undergraduate, master and doctoral programs as well as international exchanges and cooperation. He insisted that Technical University of Crete pay high attention to the cooperation with Guilin University of Technology and look forward to the success of the cooperation.

Subsequently, both universities discussed and reached a consensus on matters such as teacher and student’s exchange, scientific research cooperation and joint talent cultivation. They agreed to accelerate the implementation of various projects according to the agreed timetable.

The meeting deepened the understanding of international education between the two universities and promoted friendship between them. Both universities will work together to closely communicate and make unremitting efforts to establish a cooperative educational institution. The two universities look forward to establishing a long-term, close and stable cooperative relationship based on the conference and engaging in in-depth cooperation in various fields such as student training, teaching and research, in order to jointly cultivate high-quality international talents to meet the needs of global development.
