On July 12, 2024, Efthalia Chatzigianni, the Vice Rector of Administration, International relations and Outreach of the University of Peloponnese, Associate Professor of the sports organization & management department, paid an official visit to Shandong Sport University. Zhang Dianbo, the Vice President of Shandong Sport University, and leaders from Graduate School, School of Sports and Health, School of Sports Management as well as Academic Affair Office warmly received the guest from afar and attended the meeting together to discuss the details of bilateral educational cooperation.

Professor Zhang Dianbo introduced the basic situation of Shandong Sport University. He emphasized that in order to further deepen the cooperation between SSU & UOP, leaders of SSU will pay an official visit to University of the Peloponnese in this September. Shandong Sport University puts a high value on the Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution that the two universities going to build in the following days. He hopes the two sides could also cooperate in other short-term exchange & cooperation such as student exchange, Summer/Winter camps, international conferences, etc. Professor Efthalia also hope the two universities could have more opportunities to cooperate. She emphasized that UOP has a long history of cooperation with universities worldwide, such as Shanghai Sport University, Southwest University and the Center of Chinese and Greek Ancient Civilizations. Chinese students are welcomed to apply for undergraduate, master's and doctoral program as well as participate in various short-term programs such as summer& winter camps and student exchange. UOP is looking forward to jointly writing a new chapter of educational cooperation with Shandong Sport University in the near future!

In addition, Shandong Sport University also invited the Efthalia Chatzigianni, the Vice Rector of Peloponnese to participate in the 10th Nishan Forun on World Civilization held in Nishan, Qufu from July 10th to 11th. The Nishan Forun on World Civilization held the first Sports Culture Forum since its establishment in 2010, with the theme of ‘Chinese Traditional Culture and the Olympic Spirit’. Professor Efthalia delivered a keynote speech titled "Olympic Governance: globalising the global". The speech delved into the common values and goals of Chinese traditional culture, Chinese sports spirit and Olympic spirit, actively explored new paths for the inheritance and dissemination of sports culture in the new era.
