After the Rector’s Conference in Patras, representative from YGL visited University of Ioannina, in the beautiful city of Ioannina on July 22nd, 2024.

The Rector warmly welcomed the delegation. University of Ioannina held a conference organized by the vice-rector of financial and vice-rector of international affairs. The deans and chairs of departments attended the meeting. Other representatives participated via online platform. In total over 20 participates had the discussion with YGL representatives.

The meeting focused on the collaboration of Joint Institution. YGL gave a thorough introduction about the mechanism and operation of joint education with Chinese universities, and answered relevant questions from the departments. It was specially mentioned that YGL would like to help the universities to build all-rounded collaboration in China, covering education cooperation, joint research, cultural activities, as well as exchange of personnel. Both sides has determined to enter the strategic partnership, where YGL will present UoI to find the most appropriate partner in China to conduct a variety of cooperation projects.

After the meeting, the delegation was showed around the campus. The campus is now under a renewal project, refurbishing and redecorating most of the teaching and lab buildings, as well as the students’ dwelling. The renewal project will finish by end of August, the the university will welcome its student with a more charming and cozy environment.

University of Ioannina is a Higher Education Institution based in Ioannina, founded in 1970. Its departments began operating in 1964 as a branch of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Currently, it’s among the top universities in Greece, with special advantage in disciplines of science and engineering, agriculture, computer science and medicine.
