October 21, 2021, the Launching Event Advisory Committee for the Greek and Chinese Cooperation in Higher Education was held in Beijing and Athens simultaneously.

On the event, Dr. WANG Yongli, Vice President and Secretary General of CEAIE (China Education Association for International Exchange) and Dr. Apostolis DIMITROPOULOS, Secretary General for Higher Education, Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affair, signed and announced the Joint Statement on the Establishment of Advisory Committee for the Greek and Chinese Cooperation in Higher Education.

The advisory committee is a joint effort of both China and Greece to further promote the exchange and communication of the universities of the two countries, as well as to accelerate the joint academic cooperation and research projects.

H. E. Ambassador Mr. Leonidas ROKANAS, Director General for the European Union (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and former Ambassador of Greece to China, Ms. Niki KERAMEUS, Minister of Greek Ministry of Education and Religious Affair, H.E. Mr. XIAO Junzheng, Chinese Ambassador in Greece, H.E. Mr. Georgios Iliopoulos, Greek Ambassador in China, and other leaders delivered speeches for the launching event.

Presidents and rectors from Chinese and Greek Universities attending this launching event includes Renmin University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Fujian University of Technology, University of Patras, National Kapostr University of Athens, Aristotle University, etc. They shared and exchanged the successful experience of China-Greece education cooperation.

University of Patras and Fujian University of Technology signed the agreement of collaboration of establishing the joint-teaching institution. With the coordinating and assistance of YGL in the whole process, the collaboration between UP and FJUT is the first Sino-Greece joint-institution, also currently the largest scale of education cooperation between China and Greece. Congratulations to the two universities and we believe the endeavor is taking the educational cooperation between the two countries a step further.

It is repeatedly mentioned in the meeting, that Greece Higher Education is now more internationalized and open than ever before. We believe the cooperation with China is not only contributing to the friendship and communication between the two nations, but also playing an important role in the revolution of Hellenic Higher Education.
