On November 18th, the "3rd 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Vocational Education Cooperation Forum & Southeast Asia Hakka Culture and the Belt and Road International Youth Academic Forum", jointly sponsored by the Fujian Provincial Education Department, the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road Vocational Education Alliance, and Sanming University, and supported by Foreign Affairs Office of Fujian Province and Sanming Municipal People's Government, was successfully held in Sanming University. The conference witnessed nearly 200 online and offline attendees including representatives from universities, educational institutions, multinational or foreign companies and other units from different countries and regions such as China, Russia, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, South Korea and others, experts in the field of Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, and scholars focusing on Southeast Asia and related topics of the "Belt and Road".
Themed by "Building a community with a shared future for Maritime Silk Road and constructing a new pattern of educational opening up", this forum aims to implement the policy of "promoting the joint construction of Belt and Road Educational Action", posed by China Ministry of Education, so as to make full use of Fujian’s special advantage as the core area of the "Maritime Silk Road". It also seeks to gather the education resources of vocational colleges home and abroad, the resources of Chinese and foreign industry and enterprises as well as the wisdom of the Hakka Chinese and overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia, in order to build a multilateral cooperation platform, to fully sketch out a road map to elevate the vocational education to an international level and to serve the vocational education construction 21st century "Maritime Silk Road".
YGL, among those who received invitation, also invited his close partners, Professor Phil Harris, who was with University of Chester, Emeritus Marketing & Public Affairs, and Extraordinarius UNISA, Pretoria, RSA, he was also the Editor in Chief of Journal of Public Affairs. Prof. Harris delivered a speech at the forum. YGL is happy to join hands with his partners to fuel the communication and exchanges on Sino-foreign cooperation in running schools, hence to build a multilateral cooperation platform for the development of vocational education in Fujian.
