On the afternoon of 17, March, Dr. Cheng Shuqiang, president of Shaanxi Technical College of Finance & Economics, met online with Prof. Kostas Gouliamos, former rector of European University Cyprus. Both sides had a friendly conversation and then Dr. Cheng Shuqiang issued an appointment letter of visiting professor to Prof. Kostas. Staff of other colleges and departments, representatives of EUC China offices were also at present.

During the online meeting, Prof. Kostas expressed his long love and enthusiasm towards Chinese traditional culture, as well as his effort to promote cooperation between China and Cyprus, even the whole Europe. Then Prof. Kostas gave a brief introduction to European University Cyprus and its current cooperation with Chinese counterparts, sketching out the future cooperation with Shaanxi such as Luban Workshop and so on. At last, Prof. Kostas praised the ongoing PHD program between two sides and talked about his plan to visit Shaanxi so as to further promote the cooperation by the end of 2022.

Dr. Cheng then delivered a speech, saying last year marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Cyprus. Shaanxi Technical College of Finance & Economics, as the leading professional college in Northwest region, sought to cooperate with European University Cyprus in various aspects. Lastly, Dr. Cheng introduced their thought to set up China-Cyprus Research Center to further strengthen the mutual learning to contribute to the people-to-people relationship between two countries.

The meeting ended successfully when Dr. Cheng issued the appointment letter to invite Prof. Kostas as Shaanxi's visiting professor. Both sides again extended their hope to promote cooperation and maintain mutual relationship.
