On May 11th, 2022, the Europe-China (Fujian) Virtual Conference on Education Cooperation was held in Fuzhou and online. The conference was organized by Fujian Foreign Affairs Office, and supported by Fujian Provincial Department of Education.

European universities comes from Italy, Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Romania, etc. Fuzhou Universities, Minjiang University and Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade (FUIST), and other universities in Fujian also participated in the conference.

On the conference, universities from home and abroad made introduction of the institutions and shared experience in international cooperation and exchanges. Minjiang University and Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade shared about the successful cooperation with European University Cyprus, and Accademia di belle arti belle arti legalmente riconosciuta di siracusa "Rosario Gagliardi" in the Italy respectively, which were both successfully facilitated and implemented with the help of YGL.

Former Rector and Senior Advisor of Strategic Development of European University Cyprus, Professor Kostas Gouliamos made an inspiring speech on the education cooperation between Europe and China, and how the joint institution between EUC and Minjiang University has contributed to the people-to-people exchange between China and Cyprus under the framework of the "Belt and Road" Initiative. Furthermore, the collaboration has led to the twinning between the City of Nicosia and the Fuzhou City. CAI Wenzhi, Director of European and African Affairs Department, Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, expressed gratitude to Professor Gouliamos on his contribution and support not only in the twining between Fuzhou and Nicosia, but also for further establishing friendly relationship between Fujian Province and Region of Western Greece.

YGL on the conference shared about the experience of working with overseas partners to provide customized and sustainable internationalization solution to Chinese universities in Fujian Province, and how together we implement the substantial collaborations so to contribute to the further communication and exchanges with Nicosia and Region of Western Greece. YGL sent invitation to the higher education institutions at home and around the globe, to join hands and provide our power in the construction of maritime silk road.
