On June, 10th, with the facilitation of YGL, Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade met with The Academy of Fine Arts, Siracusa online to discuss the development of joint programme. The conference was attended by Prof. Xu Guoli, Vice-president of Fuzhou University of International Studies and Trade, Prof. Elisabetta Galasso, Honorary President of Siracusa Academy of Fine Arts, and Prof. Alessandro Montel, Dean with Siracusa Academy of Fine Arts. Present were also directors of related departments and offices of both universities.
The director of International Education Center of FUIST began the conference by extending warm greetings to the guests, followed by introductions to joint program, enrollment plans, teaching arrangement, and courses, teaching staff and related arrangements by other department directors of FUIST.
Alessandro Montel, Dean of Siracusa Academy of Fine Arts, expressed his greetings to leaders and colleagues in FUIST, and showed gratitude to the contribution of all parties to the cooperation in the past 20 months. Alessandro said the cooperation between SAFA and FUIST is one of the successful education cooperation of this kind between China and Italy, which is of great importance. Siracusa Academy of Fine Arts has been and will always undertake its responsibility and be committed to delivering on the commitment made by both sides. He added that the selection of Italian teachers to be teaching in China has been underway.
Elisabetta Galasso, Honorary President of Siracusa Academy of Fine Arts, stated that the cooperation presented an new opportunity for both sides. This innovative and ambitious project has set benchmark for other international cooperation at SAFA. She hoped that the Italian students could go to China and enjoy the Chinese culture in person if the pandemic is brought under control.
Elena Ianeselli, the program director, said she's very excited to participate in the program, and expressed her expectation of the programme in the hope of more productive student exchanges. Xu Guoli, Vice-president of FUIST, extended his gratitude to the Italian counterpart and shared his insights into the operation of the programme in the coming years. According to Prof. Xu, works should be done in four areas, namely the introduction of educational resources, preparation of related materials, training for teachers and programme evaluation.
Representatives from YGL International Education attended the conference and reiterated YGL's commitment to the programme, which will contribute to the bilateral ties of the two universities, cities and provinces.
