On March 7, 2023, YGL's President, LIU Jiting, and CEO, SHEN Rong, visited Patras, the capital of Region of West Greece and the third-largest city in Greece. Mr. Zaimis, Deputy Governor of the Region of West Greece, warmly welcomed the YGL delegation at the government building. This was the first time that YGL and Mr. Zaimis met in person since the intergovernmental meeting between Fujian Province, China, and RWG last year. Both sides felt very cordial, and Mr. Zaimis, on behalf of the government and parliament of RGW, expressed his eagerness to carry out various cooperation with China. The parliament has adopted many resolutions to lead a high-quality delegation comprising regional governments, chambers of commerce, enterprises and universities to visit China this year and actively discuss various cooperation issues.

Later, Professor Mantzavinos, the Vice President of the University of Patras, accompanied YGL delegation to visit Patras. Patras is an ancient city with a history of more than 4,000 years. It is located in the northwest of Peloponnese, with Mount Panachaiko at its back and Patras Bay in the west. It is an important port city in West Greece, connecting Italy and Ionian Islands. There are many places of interest in the city, such as the Patras Castle, the Memorial Hall and the Orthodox Church.
