On March 8, 2023, LIU Jiting, the President of YGL, and SHEN Rong, the CEO of YGL, visited University of Patras in Greece. Over the past three years, YGL and University of Patras have maintained a successful partnership. During their meeting, both sides agreed to start a comprehensive strategic cooperation mode. Scholars from the European Academy of Sciences at the University of Patras will establish a research station in China, and dozens of renowned professors and scholars from the University will be sponsored to conduct academic exchanges in China every year. University of Patras will enhance joint scientific research with Chinese universities, collaborate on projects, and facilitate the commercialization of research outcomes.

As a top university in Greece, University of Patras boasts 161 laboratories covering various disciplines and nearly 1,600 researchers. These laboratories are the focus of national and international research alliances. The engineering majors of University of Patras rank around 200th in the world according to QS ranking. The University has also established close partnerships with prestigious institutions such as John Hopkins University, Harvard University, University of London, Imperial College London, and Queen Mary College.

After the meeting, Professor Bouras, the president of University of Patras, Professor Mantzavinos, the vice president, and professors from the School of Engineering, which has been cooperating with Northwestern Polytechnical University in scientific research, invited YGL delegation to a special seafood restaurant at Patras Port to sample local delicacies.
