On April 27, Greek Ambassador to China Evgenios Kalpyris and his delegation, who were attending the 6th Digital China Construction Summit in Fujian, visited Fujian University of Technology accompanied by YGL, and had a discussion with Tong Xin, president of Fujian University of Technology on the establishment of the first China-Greece Joint Institute. President Tong introduced the development of Fujian University of Technology in recent years, especially its achievements in the professional certification of engineering education, the achievements in personnel training and the education opening up. Tong said that the Fujian University of Technology is willing to promote the establishment of the first Sino-Greek Joint Institute in Fujian in cooperation with University of Patras, and make it a model in the China-Greece higher education cooperation, hence to make more contributions to the bilateral friendship.

Ambassador Kalpyris said that cultural exchanges are the basis for promoting the long-term development of bilateral relations. Greece attaches great importance to cooperation with China in the fields of culture and education. Two months ago, the Chinese President replied to Greek scholars to congratulated on the establishment of the Center for Ancient Greek and Chinese Culture, which is of great significance to promoting mutual learning. The cooperation between Fujian University of Technology and University of Patras in the Region of Western Greece is promising and the ambassador is willing to provide full support.
