YGL visited University of the Aegean in Mytilene, capital of Lesbos, Greece this summer, as a response to the kind invitation from Prof. Chryssi Vitsilaki, Rector of the University. The two sides exchanged their ideas on a variety of topics, ranging from the comprehensive cooperation between University of the Aegean and Chinese universities, to the university's influence over China, and the mutual learning of Chinese and Hellenic ancient civilizations. Dr. Dimitrios Papageorgiou, Vice Rector of the university, and other school leaders and instructors also joined the meeting.

University of the Aegean is the Top 7 university in Greece famous for its interdisciplinarity. The university ranks among Top 601-800 universities according to Times Higher Education World University Ranking, with even higher rankings among world's Top 401-500 in subjects including Social Science, Business, Education, Computer Science and Engineering. It has created friendly relations with many Chinese universities, including Shanghai Maritime University and Hangzhou Dianzi University. University of the Aegean is home to the world's first "Online Chinese Language Classroom" which was launched in 2020. Guests of the launching ceremony included Ms. Niki Kerameus, then Minister of Education and Religious Affairs of Greece, Mr. Tian Xuejun, then Vice Minister of Education of P.R.C., Ms. Zhang Qiyue, then Chinese ambassador to Greece and Prof. Chryssi Vitsilaki. In February, 2023, Ms. Sun Chunlan, then Vice Premier of P.R.C. participated in the unveiling ceremony of the "Online Chinese Language Classroom" in University of the Aegean.

Both sides agreed that the meeting could promote more frequent and high-quality exchanges of educational resources and lay a solid foundation for future cooperation between China and Greece. YGL delegation was served a nice luncheon with local dishes by school leaders of the university after the meeting.
