In July 2023, the International Conference on China and the World: Towards Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech.

Prof. Kostas Gouliamous, member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, member of the Royal Society of Arts, former Senior Advisor to the Presidents of Greece and Cyprus, and former Rector of the European University Cyprus, was invited to attend the conference and deliver a keynote speech. Minister Li also received Prof. Kostas Gouliamous before the meeting and expressed his recognition and gratitude for his great contribution to the continuous promotion of humanistic exchanges between China and Europe.

After the meeting, YGL accompanied Prof. Kostas Gouliamous to meet Zhu Yongxin, the Vice Chairman of CPPCC and the Executive Vice Chairman of the China Association for Promoting Democracy (CAPD), along with Gao Xiang, the President and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Prof. Gouliamous has had many years of close exchanges and cooperation with the leaders, and the atmosphere of the first meeting after the pandemic was exceptionally friendly and warm.

President Gao invited Prof. Gouliamos and his colleagues from YGL to have lunch at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). Prof. Gouliamos and CASS are planning to jointly publish a book. The two sides chatted about everything from current and future cooperation to the dialogue between the civilizations of China and Greece, generating many insights on people-to-people exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. YGL will keep assisting Prof. Gouliamos with further details of his cooperation with CASS after he leaves China.
