On September 26, 2023, the Vice Rector of the University of Patras (UP) - Prof. Dionysios Mantzavinos, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering - Prof. Alexandros Katsaounis were invited to visit Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) and were warmly received by Prof. Tan Tianwei, President of BUCT. Subsequently, Prof. Mantzavinos and Prof. Katsaounis made academic reports at the School of Life Science and Technology.

Prof. Tan and Prof. Mantzavinos have been friends for many years. UP and BUCT have been cooperating extensively and closely in many fields such as chemical engineering, environment, biotechnology, etc. This visit is also an engine to the academic exchanges and cooperation between the two sides, as well as to discuss the cooperation in the postgraduate education.
