From November 18th to 24th, 2024, YGL accompanied a delegation from Guangxi Normal University, led by President Sun Jieyuan and other relevant personnel, on a visit to Greece. The purpose of the visit was to expand substantive cooperation between Guangxi Normal University (GXNU) and high-level universities in Europe. The delegation received a warm welcome from the University of Ioannina, the Business Confucius Institute in Athens.

As one of the five high-level universities in Greece, University of Ioannina enjoys a high reputation in academic research and talent cultivation. The delegation had in-depth exchanges with University of Ioannina on the co-establishment of the School of Science. They also held detailed discussions on various aspects, including teacher and student exchanges, joint scientific research, discipline development, and collaborative training programs. The two universities reached a consensus on cooperation and signed a MOU. In addition, both institutions are members of the EU’s ‘Erasmus+’ project. This visit has consolidated the foundation of cooperation in ‘Erasmus+’ project and clarified the intention and details of further cooperation.

This visit not only continued the traditional friendship and understanding between GXNU and UoI, an important measure to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation in education. YGL will also spare no effort to assist the partner universities in further strengthening friendly exchanges by building a deep exchange platform, thus injecting new impetus into promoting the development of high-quality education and international exchanges between China and Greece.
