
On Sep. 27th, 2022, YGL witnessed the signing of cooperation agreement between China's Fujian Polytechnic Normal University and Bangkok Thonburi University, Thailand.
Fujian Polytechnic Normal University (FPNU) is a public four-year university in Fujian Province, offering more than 30 majors. FPNU's Cooperative partner Bangkok Thonburi University (BTU), a higher education institution established in 2003, has been recognised as a leading institution of higher learning in Thailand with continuing determination to provide quality education for all people to provide equity and quality education to cope with the ever-changing world.
Under YGL's substantial assistance and coordination, both universities have built the partnership and finally held a virtual signing ceremony, where, Mr. Liao Shenji, president of Fujian Polytechnic Normal, and Ms. Bangorn Benjathikul, president of Bangkok Thonburi University were present. Also present at the signing ceremony were the Dean of related schools and heads of both Departments of International Affairs.
Then President Liao Shenji delivered a speech in which he briefly introduced students and the rising influence of FPNU in recent years. President Liao referred to support from both Chinese and Thai governments, as the essential effort to lead to this signing ceremony, especially the correspondence between former Thai Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Korn Dabbaransi and Ms SUN Chunlan, Vice Premier of the State Council, as well as Mr Yinli, Secretary of Fujian Provincial Party Committee.
Ms. Bangorn Benjathikul, president of BTU, thanked Liao for his speech, all those who attended, and the officials who have made efforts to facilitate the cooperation. She believed "this programme is to improve the quality of education and instructions" and expressed her fervent expectation to pay a possible visit to China.
After the agreement was officially signed, representatives from both sides talked with their counterparts. They showed their confidence in the teaching staff and curriculum, considering this programme as a powerful combination. The ceremony ended with group photos of all representatives.
The sign of the Joint Programme will see both join hands on educational cooperation, in-depth research on the delivery of instruction, the characteristics of teaching, as well as the student/teacher exchange activities in the future. Besides, it will also contribute to the further cooperation between the two universities.
